Obituary

Shirley Jo Huff died at home on June 17, 2022 in Yuma, Arizona after a brief battle with esophageal cancer.   She was born September 10, 1935, in Floyd County, Indiana to Paul and Aliene Martin. In 1953, Shirley married the love of her life, Fred C. Huff, going on to have three children. Shirley decided to dedicate her life to being a loving wife, and wonderful mother.

Shirley excelled at propping up her family and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties throughout their lives. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others.  Shirley was passionate about life and when she wasn't filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found traveling with her husband, playing bingo with her friends, or making special boxes to send to her family and friends. We celebrate the time we had with her and will miss her greatly.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Debra J. Gipe, her parents, Paul and Aliene Martin, her brother, Don Martin, and her three sisters, Betty Bloomingburg, Joan Houle, and Paula McNamara.  She leaves behind her husband of almost 70 years, Fred C. Huff and two children, Barbara A. Kitterman, and Suzanne M. Smith. Her grandson, Skyler W.A Kranvek, granddaughters Karrah G. Kitterman and Karsyn J. Kitterman. As, well as two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Matthew, and Piper Sage.

To honor Shirley, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, in memory of Debra J. Gipe. Your gift will improve the lives of pancreatic cancer patients.
