Obituary

Raynard M. Castro of Yuma, passed peacefully at Yuma Regional Medical Center on April 27, 2018 at the age of 70.  At his bedside were his Son, Daughter, Brother, Sisters and additional family members.
Raynard was a Yuma native, born on October 27, 1947 to a pioneer family of Castro's and Martinez's.  He graduated from Yuma High School, and he was also an Army Veteran (68-70) serving in Germany and bivouacking on the White House lawn during the country-wide riots of the late 1960s.
After serving his Country, Raynard was hired on with the Southern Pacific Railroad and remained there until he retired in 2013 after almost 32 years of employment.
Known for his quick, razor sharp wit and spot-on sense of humor, Raynard brought a big smile to the faces of all those who knew him.  He was always the life of the party and had an extreme love for the game of NFL football, most particularly the Denver Broncos.  He was such an unwavering Bronco fan that no matter the record, he would not abandon his team.  He had a tight circle of "Buds", other dedicated NFL fans who all would gather during the season to cheer and yell for each other's teams, often resulting in prolonged banter, hilarious jabs and belly aches caused by laughter.  The camaraderie was remarkable.
Raynard was a wonderful Father and will be dearly missed by his surviving two children; Son Scott Castro of Flagstaff, Daughter Laura Castro of Tucson; his siblings Ish Jr. Castro (Bonnie), Carol Brazeel and Lydia Lee all of Yuma; Uncle Elias Castro of Yuma and many loving Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.  He is preceded in death by: his Parents Ismael L. and Esperanza M. Castro Sr., Brother David M. Castro. Brother-in-laws Dale Brazeel and Curtis Lee.
