Kay Maureen (Stanley) Gabbard, 77, of Yuma passed away on September 24, 2017 in Yuma, AZ.

Kay was born in Carroll, Iowa to Jesse Elwood Stanley and Francis Mary Reding Stanley on January 18, 1940. She was involved in many organizations during her life.  Most of which were in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico.  Kay and her husband Bill started a program called Book Buddies which provided books in Spanish to local elementary schools.  She also was very involved in the Rotary Club of San Felipe and donated to the Humane Society of Yuma. She loved animals and especially rescuing dogs.

Kay is preceded in death by her husband, William Gabbard and by her parents, Jesse and Francis Stanley.

Kay is survived by her son, Arthur Gabbard (Jamie) of Dayton, Ohio and her grandchildren Angela Lee, Aaron Gabbard, Andrew Gabbard, Benjamin Gabbard and William Gabbard.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Kindred Care Homes for taking care of Kay in her final days and to Hospice of Yuma for providing excellent palliative care.
