Daniel B. Modeen was born in Duluth, Minnesota on January 7, 1938 to Paul and Irene Modeen.  He was the fourth child of 17.  Married Diane and had 8 children, Karen, deceased, (Mark), William (Marcy), Darrel (Linda), Paul, deceased (Sue), Jeffery (Tracy), Kimberly, Therese (Troy) and Rebeckah.  13 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.  A great adventure was being Foster Parents to approximately 50 children.

In his younger years he worked in construction and as a tile setter.  Before retiring he was a Real Estate Agent.

Dan enjoyed family gatherings.  His passion was visiting patients in hospitals, nursing homes and the home bound.  He loved the Lord and wanted everyone to know about Jesus.

In his younger days he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children.  He made rosaries and was an advid reader.
