It is with sadness and heartbreak that our families and loved ones share the passing of Damian Lee Tellez, our beautiful, kind, and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and Tata. He passed away on January 20, 2021 at the age of 54 in Yuma, AZ.

Damian was born in Willcox, AZ, but attended school in Yuma, Safford, and Morenci. He graduated from Morenci High School and attended Eastern Arizona College where he proudly served as Drum Major for both marching bands. He eventually returned to Yuma where he met Emma, the love of his life. For over 30 years, Damian and Emma loved each other and raised their six children in a home filled with love and protection. Damian worked as a phlebotomist at Yuma Regional Medical Center and was well known for being able to successfully draw labs for the most challenging patients.

Anyone who was blessed to have known Damian knew that he was always up for a conversation on any topic. We used to say he was like a walking encyclopedia and was especially well versed on Arizona Sports.

Damian will be greatly missed by his wife, Emma Fraijo Tellez; his parents Candido and Mary Tellez(Tucson); six children Josefina, Victoria, Maribel, Aragorn, Elijah, and Kyamani; stepchildren Ramon and Elizabeth Martinez; siblings Rick (Kathi), Margaret(Richard), Becky(Mike), and Candace; nieces and nephews; friends; and family.

Damian's family would like to thank all of the medical staff at Yuma Regional Medical Center who provided such compassionate care. We are forever grateful for the respect, professionalism, and empathy that you gave Damian and his family during such a difficult time. Due to our current COVID restrictions, services for Damian will be held privately with immediate family.
