Amada "Payita" Maestre

February 11th, 1948 - February 8th, 2020

Amada Maestre, known to her dear family and friends as Payita, went to be with the Lord on Saturday February 8th, 2020.  Born in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico but lived most of her life in San Luis, R.C. Sonora.  Migrated to the U.S. with her husband and four children where she resided the remainder of her years.

Payita's children describe her as strong willed, caring, warrior of a woman, and defender of her family.  She loved music, laughter, banter and a shot of tequila every now and then.

Payita was preceded in death by her sister Gloria, her parents, Don Jesus and Maria Luisa Hernandez, her brothers, Miguel and Luis Hernandez, her baby daughter Amada and her beloved newphew Gerardo Hernandez.  She is survived by her beloved children, Alma (Dan) Gradias, Maritza (Cristobal) Hoyos, Alan Azul Tapia and Sunny Tapia.  She is also survived by four great-grandkids whom she adored, Ava, Zoey, Lincoln and Stella, brother Jesus Hernandez and several nephews and nieces.

Services will follow cremation this Saturday, February 15th, 2020, starting at 5:00 PM at Funeraria Del Paraiso, located at Avenida Cinco de Mayo between 5ta & 6ta in San Luis, R.C. Sonora.
